Winning solves all problems. One at a time and start climbing. Need someone to shake things up and get it going. Go Birds.

I may be wrong about this, but think that the biggest problem with this team is the numbers of injuries we have had. What is it right now — 13 players on the IL? That’s just huge.

We start getting back Eflin, Kittredge, and O’Neill, and we start winning more games. Urias, Westburg, and Wells maybe not far behind.

It’s not like the hitters on the IL were lighting it up before they went on the IL. I hope the time away means Westburg comes back healthy and ONeill starts to hit LHP but we’ll see.

Looking at their 162-game career averages, I would rather have a Tyler O'Neill at 30 HRs and 77 RBIs or a Colton Cowser at 25 HRs and 74 RBIs in my outfield, than a Dylan Carlson, with 12 HRs and 58 RBIs.

And, I would rather have a Jordan Westburg at 20 HRs and 75 RBIs or a Ramón Urías at 15 HRs and 65 RBIs, than an Emmanuel Rivera at 10 HRs and 49 RBIs.

And if you really cannot see the difference between the players we have had to put on the IL, and the replacements we have brought up, well, I am just wasting my time here!

Wow, take a breath. I never said I preferred the replacements to the IL players. I only made a comment meaning those same players had not done much before they went on the IL. I want them to all come back and revert to historical mean. Then Carlson wouldn’t be here. And Sanchez and O’Neill would start hitting LHP. That would put the offense in a better place. I was looking for a friendly chat not for you to wage your time.

Injuries certainly have had a major impact on the pitching but I think it's more then that on hitting. I think it's the swing hard all the time approach they teach and the current hitting instructors. I believe we need a change in that area. I also believe that missing Cowser's spirited play is under appreciated in this poor offense.

I still believe this team will be very good. But probably not right away. Is there patience too wait before blowing it all up

I do hear some clamor from the fan base about "blowing it all up."

However, I seriously doubt that the Orioles management gives this any consideration at all.

I tend to agree with injuries being the issue. The decimated pitching staff has placed intense pressure on all of the young hitters to compensate, while they are trying to establish their own identities in a league that is very difficult. Then on top of that continual loss of position players to injury as well.

I've been an orioles fan since 1964. I can't remember any team I was more disappointed in. Primarily in light of expectations.

This is such a sad year. They have to the end of this month to show some signs of life or the season is gone. If I let my emotions rule, I would have given up on this year already. But reason tells me being out 7.5 games from first with 126 games to go and three wildcard spots available there is still opportunity to make the playoffs. But man my emotions are taking over.

I know you’re an optimist, so I’ve been hesitant to weigh in. But the reality is starting to sink in this is just not a very good team. The horses just aren’t there. Hopefully some pieces come around to make good deadline trades but, this is not a playoff team. It’s barely a major league team.

The reality is 13-23. But the horses are not there as their two best pitchers have combined to make 3 starts and key players have missed time. So we need to see what it looks like when they get some of those horses back. They are not there now, because they are on the IL. That point is up for debate as they did win for the last three seasons. They scored runs. They won the AL East, etc. Those are not about optimism, they are just facts.
